East End Farmers' Market depends on its volunteers to provide access to healthy food for all, regardless of income.  If you would like to participate in this effort, consider donating some time to operate our EBT (food stamps) terminal during one or more of our market days.
The task is simple, the environment is friendly, and the rewards are innumerable.

We will provide a short onsite training session to prepare volunteers to use the remote access terminal and offer assistance throughout the market day as well.  Volunteers swipe the shoppers' Electronic Benefits Transfer cards and distribute tokens and receipts.  Then at the end of the market day, vendors submit tokens in exchange for receipts. All the bookkeeping is handled by the Chamber of Commerce, so our volunteers need only provide courteous service and accurate records.

Opportunities are available at both sites:
Dexter Park on Saturdays from 7:45am - 1:15pm
Homer on the Green on Wednesdays from 4:15 - 7:15

Students searching for fun and rewarding opportunities to complete community service requirements are invited to participate, and we are happy to write letters on their behalf.
